The
Diabetes
Association opened the doors of its new offices at 170 Pleasant Street
on September 29, 2004, Diabetes Awareness Day in Fall River. The new
facility will permit the Association to offer new resources to help people
manage and prevent type II diabetes. New services will include free
strength training classes and more educational programs throughout the
year, such as workshops, speakers and a lending library. The Association
also offers home visits, diabetic meter teaching, case management, support
groups and many education programs for children, adults and elders, such
as the annual Get Moving exercise program. Each summer, it also runs Camp
Kyle at the Fall River Rod and Gun Club in Westport for children with
diabetes. | ||
