Ferry Street Ministries, Inc. is developing an outreach to the Corky Row neighborhood to help people there deal with substance abuse and other problems that are affecting the neighborhood. Though they maintain a storefront church at 1367 Pleasant Street which offers a soup kitchen on Sunday evenings and a food share every 4th Saturday of the month, they have recently established a Lighthouse Outreach Center at 194 Fifth Street to minister to the people in that neighborhood that will be open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for free clothing and food and after-school assistance with homework for neighborhood children. Programs will also be offered for seniors from the neighborhood at the Fall River Housing Authority senior high rise at Second and Morgan Streets . Anyone who wishes to know more about this unique ministry is urged to contact Pastor Hopkins at 774-644-1551.
