One of the most important ways of improving health is to improve the quality of education. Dr. M.M. Campbell, pastor and founder of the Alpha & Omega International Church at 220 Johnson Street in Fall River has organized a program to help children in the Father Diaferio housing development learn the skills they need to be successful in school. Dr. Campbell and several volunteers from her church devote an hour each Tuesday evening to working with these children on basic skills such as reading, writing and arithmetic. Dr. Campbell challenges the assembled children to practice and apply the skills they are learning at school. And, Dr. Campbell urges children to eat healthy food and to get plenty of vigorous exercise. For more information about the program, contact Dr. Campbell at 508-324-3077.
