An exhibition of children's book illustrations opened on April 20, 2006, at the Cherry & Webb Gallery in downtown Fall River featuring works by nineteen artists. The event was presented in conjunction with the Second Annual Children's Film Festival held from My 1st through 12th. The exhibit featured original artwork that has recently been published in numerous children's books by publishers such as Charlesbridge and Lerner. The original illustrations are from books like "The Shape of Betts Meadow," "Sasha & Babushka," "Night Sky" and "The Dot," to name a few. Local artists in the exhibit include Laura Siok Baganha of Somerset, Nancy Cote of Somerset, Ruth Flanigan of Rehoboth, Joanne Friar of Somerset, Nicole Wong of Fall River and Carol Way Wood of South Dartmouth.Other artists from Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut are A. Michelle, Paula Bird, Claire Lates Davis, Donna R. Ide, Scott Leta, Kay Life, Judith Moffatt, Rebecca Nightingale, Cheryl Kirk Noll, Maureen Patrolia, Vladimir Shpitalnik, Lesley Breen Withow, and Amie Ziner.
