Could a Children's Museum of Greater Fall River become a reality in Fall River? Ray Gordon and other members of the Board of directors think so, and an informational session held at the UMass Professional Learning Center on April 27, 2006, set out to describe how it could happen. The purpose of the evening was to strengthen the board by recruiting new members. The board is made up of people who are committed to the idea of establishing a Children's Museum in Fall River. Much of the ground work has already been laid: the group is a 501,c (3) non-profit corporation; they belong to the Association of Children's Museums; funds have been raised; and a board composed of many skilled professionals and interested parents has been assembled. Two future goals will be to obtain a source of major funding and finding a suitable location. Mr. Gordon is inviting anyone who would like to join the board to contact him at 508-287-0663 or by e-mail at raygordon@cmgfr.org.
