The New England Family Wellness Foundation held its third annual 5K Children's Wellness Walk and Fair on September 17, 2006, starting at 29 Fifteenth street next to the Foundation offices. This year, the walk offered fitness demonstrations at several sites along the 5K walking route that circled Britland Park behind the Fall River Police Department headquarters on Pleasant Street. Children received free backpacks and water bottles.  A cookout was held following the walk back at the Foundation for a donation of $20 per adult and children 17 and under paying their age. Proceeds from the walk benefit the New England Family Wellness Foundation.
