Fall River got ready for Christmas with its annual parade down Main Street to Gromada Plaza in front of Government Center on December 2, 2006. Hundreds braved cold December winds and 40 degree temperatures to watch local bands, marching groups and floats move from Kennedy Park to Gromada Plaza in front of Government Center to watch Mayor Edward M. Lambert, Jr. count down the lighting of the Christmas tree. Parade-goers were then invited to the Veteran's Memorial Auditorium on Bank Street for free hot chocolate and pictures with Santa provided by CD-Recreation staff.
