B.M.C. Durfee High School held its 14th annual all night after-prom party on June 2nd, a drug and alcohol-free event funded solely through community donations and with no expense to the students. This year, the cost of the event was over $15,000. The event had a Western theme ("Into the Sunset") and included a huge number of games, including a shooting gallery, Bungie Bull Sumo wrestling, roping a calf, motorized racing tubs, an obstacle course, a giant slide, a fortune teller, getting a washable tattoo, having a caricature drawing done, and playing Texan Hold Um in the casino. Food was abundant, too, including unlimited pizza, subs, popcorn, ice cream sundaes, cookies, cotton candy and soda. To top it off, there was also a cash cube where students grabbed for dollar bills, a talent show and a hypnotist. At 5:00 a.m. a name was drawn for a new car, donated by Fernando Garcia of Fall River Ford,  and won by Brittany Hilario. A total of 573 students attended the party, which meant these students were not on the streets, and no negative incidents or tragedies took place.
