The Fall River Falcons Pop Warner Football and Cheerleading began another season of practice and play, with their first game on August 27th. Playing against the Old Rochester Bull Dogs at the Bishop Connolly Field on September 24th, the Mitey Mites team won 19-6. The Jr. Pee Wees lost lost 0-12, the Pee Wee team won 35-0, the Jr. Midgets won 28-6, and the Midgets won 25-0. The five teams practice at Father Travasos Field off of Alden Street on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Sign-ups take place each spring with practices starting in August and an official weigh-in at Kickemuit Middle School in Warren in late August. Cost is approximately $70 per player to cover the cost of equipment. Participation is open to anyone from Fall River or Somerset.
