In many ways, the 4th of July is like one big party for the City of Fall River. It's a time when everyone comes together for a single event. Not only is it the celebration of the founding of our country, it is also a time to celebrate family, friends and the community in which we live. Thought delayed for two nights due to rain, the 2006 turned out to be very special as it was the first time the city has gathered in Heritage Park, north of the Braga Bridge rather than at the foot of Kennedy Park. This new location took advantage of the city's new boardwalk upon which hundreds of spectators gathered to witness the display which was timed to a musical accompaniment. The applause of the crowd indicated their enjoyment of this once-a-year event.

(Top row, right) Kennedy Bryant, Kayla Baker, Jonathan Curtis and Rachael Curtis display their lighted decorations. (Bottom row, center) Suzanne Amadeo and Shyann Monteiro (lower left) enjoy the fireworks from the lawn in front of the Heritage Park pavillion.
