Over 900 entrants competed in the 12th Annual Officer Thomas J. Giunta 5K Road Race on Sunday, April 2nd, following a 5K course through Fall River. James Dandeneau of Fairhaven covered the 3.1-mile course with a time of 15 minutes 41 seconds to win the  annual popular race, named in memory of slain Fall River Police Officer Thomas J. Giunta. Trish Hillery, the top women's finisher from Smithfield, RI, finished in a time of 18 minutes and 15 seconds. The real winners were the 978 other competitors who ran or walked the course and got a heart-healthy work-out on a beautiful Sunday afternoon.
