The HealthFirst Family Care Center offered free blood glucose and blood pressure screenings on April 21, 2006, at its 102 County Street location in honor of National Community Development Week. HealthFirst has been the recipient of Community Development Block Grant funds for the past 35 years, funding that has helped finance the programs and services offered by the health center. HealthFirst Family Care Center’s services include primary care for adults and children, obstetrics, cardiology, medical case management, nutrition education social services, dental outreach and a WIC supplemental food program. All of these services are available to residents of the Greater Fall River area, particularly to those who are uninsured or underinsured.  More information about the Center's services is available by calling Paula Harrison at 508-679-9376, Ext. 204.

In keeping with HealthFirst’s mission to provide care to those who would not otherwise seek it, regardless of their ability to pay, the Center offers several programs to assist the uninsured. Applications for MassHealth, Uncompensated Care, Neighborhood Health Plan, CenterCare and other insurances are completed with the assistance of HealthFirst staff. Office hours that include four evenings a week and every Saturday as well as same day care make a visit to the clinic convenient and efficient. Multi-lingual and multi-cultural staff members are available to address the linguistic and cultural needs of the diverse population who choose HealthFirst as their primary care provider.
