This year's first-time Job-a-thon generated about 130 summer jobs for Fall River youth through a telephone solicitation by area leaders. Now, at the end of the summer, young people are looking back at their summer work experience. "It's been a great experience," reported Jonathan Pelletier who has been working as a data-entry specialist at Lightolier in the Fall River Industrial Park. "I'd love to come back next summer if they want me," added the B.M.C. Durfee High School entering Junior. Durfee graduate Lawrence Fernandes, who has worked as a teller at Fall River Bank Five on North Main Street, is planning a business career and will enroll at Bristol Community College in January. "It's been a great experience. I've learned a lot," he noted. Students Andrew Donald and Travis Henry, who have been working at Stellar Records, like working for a company that is in their area of interest. Andrew, a Durfee senior, plans on going into the music field and Travis, a Diman Sophomore, is interested in a career in electronics.
