Fall River has a number of food pantries and soup kitchen that meet the needs of many adults and children but the food they offer may not help hungry infants. For that reason, the Mayor's Child Nutrition Partnership sponsors and Infant Food Drive every year to supply the Fall River Food Pantry with free food and infant supplies. Last year, the drive generated about $5,000 worth of baby food and products as well as cash donations. It is well known that proper nutrition is a key element in ensuring children's health, and the ready availability of infant food to low-income families contributes to better physical and mental health in the community. Donations to the Partnership may be made at any time of the year by contacting the United Way of Greater Fall River at 101 Rock Street, Fall River.
