The Boys & Girls Club of Fall River sponsored the Second Annual John Correiro Memorial 5K race on October 15, 2007, in order to raise funds for youth programs. One hundred twenty runners lined up on Bedford Street for the Sunday afternoon race that commandeered Oak Grove Avenue, New Boston Road, Eastern Avenue and Bedford Street. Runners and walkers had a cool, crisp fall day on which to complete the course, a heart-healthy event for everyone involved. For more information about the Boys & Girls Club, call Club Director Peter McCarthy at 508-672-6340 or e-mail him at pmccarthy@fallriverma.org
