The annual Walk for Kids with Leukemia walk-a-thon, sponsored by the Richelieu Club of Fall River, was held at Kennedy Park, in a pouring rainstorm on June 24, 2006. About fifteen members of the Fall River Richelileu Club showed up but only four members decided to try a short walk to symbolize the annual walk that raises funds for the Richelieu Charity Fund where proceeds go to research and other help for kids with leukemia. The Richelieu Charity Fund is a 501 (3) © tax exempt charity and your contributions are deductible. In addition to providing some heart-healthy exercise, the walk raises awareness about the need for further research into this disease. Those who wish to make a donation, can mail them to Armand Dallaire, Richelieu Club of Fall River, 38 Eastern Ave., Fall River, Mass. 02723-2509, or call him at (508) 674-2093.
