Several hundred people from the Maplewood neighborhood gathered for three hours on June 23, 2007 at Maplewood Park for a Family Day sponsored by the B.O.L.D. (Building Our Lives Drug-free) Coalition, which works to get young people in Greater Fall River to participate in creating a healthier community. The free event included food and drinks, a bungee run, a bouncing room, face painting and a K-9 demonstration by the Fall River Police Department. Local artists were invited to express themselves through drawing and painting thanks to Arts United/Fall River. The Hip Hop group No Concerns was on hand to perform along with break dancers from B-Boying. Music was provided by DJ Joey DaSilva from X-Static sound.
