Volunteers from the Bank Street Neighborhood Association joined forces with volunteers from the United Way and a crew from the City Department of Public Works (DPW) to tidy-up the area bounded by Seabury, Pine, High and Franklin Streets. This project was part of Fall River's "Clean and Green" Initiative, announced by Mayor Edward M. Lambert, Jr. in 2004 and recently publicized during an April 18th news conference. The Bank Street Neighborhood Association brings people living in the neighborhood together for projects such as the neighborhood crime watch. Call the Department of Public Works at 508-324-2585 for information about how the city can assist residents with their own planned cleanup projects.
