For those who
want to get a start on improving their level of fitness, the
Community

Fitness
Center
Boot Camp offers a terrific opportunity to ramp up the pace with an
hour-long cardio and strength training workout. Offered every Saturday
morning at 8:00 a.m.,
trainer Johnny
Botelho takes participants through their paces, including side
steps,
plyometrics, jump roping, push-ups, crunches, stretches and even
boxing. "It's a total work-out", commented Healthy City Fall River
Coordinator David Weed. "Johnny
motivates you to go beyond what you would do if you were working out on
your own." The Boot Camp program is new to the CD-Rec Fitness Center, a
project supported by Partners for a Healthier Community. Attendance has
exceeded expectations and additional groups are being planned for the
spring and summer. For more information, contact Jamison Souza at
508-679-0922. |
