The
Bristol Workforce Investment Board
(WIB) sponsored its first annual Job and Opportunity Fair on April 12,
2007, in the Keeley Library
of the B.M.C. Durfee
High School. Designed to provide opportunities for graduating
seniors who have not finalized their plans for after graduation, the
fair offered students the chance to meet face-to-face with
representatives of 36 employers and post-secondary schools. "We're
already planning to do this again next year," commented
Bristol Workforce Investment Board
Executive Director Patricia Auerbach who headed up the planning for the
day. Dozens of high school seniors were able to interview for summer
jobs right at the site as well as to learn about other educational
