The Bristol Workforce Investment Board (WIB) sponsored its first annual Job and Opportunity Fair on April 12, 2007, in the Keeley Library of the B.M.C. Durfee High School. Designed to provide opportunities for graduating seniors who have not finalized their plans for after graduation, the fair offered students the chance to meet face-to-face with representatives of 36 employers and post-secondary schools. "We're already planning to do this again next year," commented Bristol Workforce Investment Board Executive Director Patricia Auerbach who headed up the planning for the day. Dozens of high school seniors were able to interview for summer jobs right at the site as well as to learn about other educational opportunities. For more information, contact Ms. Auerbach at 508-675-1165 or by e-mail at pauerbach@detma.org
