About 100 of Fall River's young people had a chance to meet Governor Davol Patrick on November 1st when he stopped at the Unitarian Church on North Main Street for about an hour at the invitation of mayoral candidate Representative David Sullivan. The event gave Fall River youth representing F.R.E.S.H., the Peaceful Coalition, Teens Against Drug Abuse (TADA) of the B.O.L.D. Coalition and the Boys & Girls Club of Fall River's Keystone Club the chance to ask questions about issues that affect young people in Fall River. Topics ranged from youth involvement in government to college tuition costs to recycling. The Governor has advocated for youth employment, prevention of youth violence, and education for all of Massachusetts' youth. Fall River has been the recipient of a Shannon Grant to prevent youth violence. Click here to see the Herald News article about the event.
