The
HealthFirst Family Care Center
celebrated a family day of summer fun on Saturday, May 19, 2007. This
free event was designed to emphasize the importance of increased
physical activity, good nutrition and summer safety for the entire
family. HealthFirst’s Pediatrician Nidhi Koul, M.D. stated, “It’s
important for children and their parents to be physically active and
make healthy food choices in order to maintain good health”. Activities
included music and dance contests provided by DJ Mike Cordeiro, a visit
by Spider Man and the Fall River Fire Department’s Sparky the Fire
Dog. The Bristol County Sheriff’s office provided a child identification
program. The Fall River Police Department offered information on child
passenger safety and the Fall River WIC Program provided summer food
safety tips. HealthFirst is a non-profit community health center whose
mission is to provide quality health care to those who would not
otherwise have access to care, especially those who do not have health
insurance. Now open seven days a week, HealthFirst offers convenient
evening hours and same-day sick appointments to ensure greater access to
health care.
