The Peaceful Coalition was invited by Flint West Neighborhood Association President Cathy Assad to help remove some of the trash in the neighborhood on June 8, 2007. Coalition advisor Paul Leite organized a group of students from B.M.C. Durfee High School to remove a particularly offensive pile of trash near the corner of Pleasant and Rocliffe Streets. With help from a Fall River Department of Public Works truck, the large pile was quickly removed leaving a much cleaner neighborhood. The group was also helpful in removing graffiti from neighborhood buildings. For more information about the Peaceful Coalition, contact Paul Leite at B.M.C. Durfee High School at 508-675-8100.
