Between 80 and 100 youth joined the
Peaceful Coalition
for a Hoop Fest on the basketball courts at Britland Park behind the
Fall River Police station on June 15, 2007. All of the participants
received a Peaceful Coalition Hoop Fest T-shirt, and members of the
winning team each received a brand new basketball. "The kids had a
great time and it was a terrific way to kick off the summer, stated
B.M.C. Durfee High School advisor to the group Paul Leite. "Not only did
we have a chance to have some fun with the kids, we also had the
opportunity to connect with them, counsel, and discuss summer plans,
including work and summer school." For more information about the
