Forty-one graduates of the SER-Jobs for Progress, Inc. G.E.D. program received certificates at a ceremony held at the Portuguese Cultural Center on South Main Street on July 26, 2007. Dr. Joseph Motta, retired Dean of Counseling Services at Bristol Community College served as Master of Ceremonies as Massachusetts First Lady Diane Patrick delivered the keynote address. Valedictorian Heather Levesque, a graduate of the Adult Basic Education Program, also delivered her remarks to the audience of several hundred family members and friends gathered at the gala occasion. Other dignitaries also included the Massachusetts Commissioner of Transitional Assistance Julia Kehoe, Senator Joan Menard, SER-Jobs Board of Directors President Mary Costa and Mayor Edward M.
