The Fall River YMCA opened its door for its 15th annual Healthy Kids Day a free, fun-filled day of activities designed to promote healthy kids and families on April 28, 2007, two weeks after the national event. "This is a chance for anyone to come and try out what we have to offer," noted staff member Mike Mahoney. "We're featuring our new climbing wall that was recently installed," he added. Other events included a cannon ball diving contest in the pool, face painting, scrap-booking, preschool play and a table filled with 50 pounds of different kinds of fruit donated by Stop & Shop that kids could sample. The Y runs a variety of programs six days a week in their downtown Fall River location, each of which promote a healthy body, mind and spirit. Click here to see last year's event.
