Walkers in the annual 5K Spring Sprint fundraiser for the Greater Fall River Re-Creation Committee had a gorgeous sunny spring day with temperatures in the 60s for their walk to Bicentennial Park and back on April 26, 2008. Walkers enjoyed the spectacular views of Heritage Park, the Battleship USS Massachusetts, and the Taunton River from the mile-long boardwalk. Walkers in this year's event included participants in the city-wide Fitness Challenge that wraps-up on May 10th. The event raises funds for programs provided by CD-REC which provides low-cost fitness and recreational opportunities to over 5,000 children and adults each year. Click here to see last year's event. For further information about CD-Recreation programs log onto their web site at www.cdrec.org or contact CD-REC at 508-679-0522 or Program Director Grace Gerling by e-mail.
