The Diabetes Association, Inc. (DAI) held its last support group of the summer season on July 30, 2008, at its Pleasant Street headquarters. Members have been meeting for ___ weeks. Programs are designed to help those with diabetes to maintain control. Topics include:

  • What is Diabetes?

  • When should you test your blood sugar and what do the numbers mean?

  • How to recognize and how to treat Hypo- and Hyperglycemia.

  • What to do when you are sick.

  • What you need to know about taking medications.

  • How stress affects diabetes.

  • How to talk to your doctor.

  • What is an HbA1C test?

  • What tests do you need?

  • Is insulin right for you?

  • What are the possible complications and what can you do to prevent them?
