Every year since 1986, youth from housing authorities around the Commonwealth have participated in an end-of-summer Sport-A-Rama that brings youth together for a day of competitive sports. The Fall River Housing Authority (FRHA) participates every year and, this year, hosted the event. A team from Somerville joined with youth from across the Fall River Housing Authority developments at the new B.M.C. Durfee field. Boys and girls took part in long jump, 50 yard dash, soccer kick-off, football throw, three-legged race and other events. Fall River's team took first place in the event over-all though there were many individual winners on each team.
