The Niagara Neighborhood Association invited Dr. David Weed, Coordinator of the Healthy City initiative, to talk at their October 27, 2008, meeting on the subject of Community Gardens. St. Luke's Church has offered the use of some of its land at Oxford and Warren Streets for the development of a garden.  Derek Christianson of Brix Bounty Farm in North Dartmouth (http://brixbounty.blogspot.com) led a session on soil testing and soil health at St. Luke’s Church on on October 23rd for about a dozen interested gardeners. Dr. Weed responded to questions about the project and asked for a member of the Association to serve as a liaison for the development of the garden over the winter of 2008-2009.  For further information about the project as it develops, contact Dr. Weed at 508-324-2411.
