Newly-hired staff for the
CD-REC Park &
Lunch summer recreation program participated in a week of training
from June 16th through the 20th, 2008, prior to providing supervision to
hundreds of children at the program's eleven locations throughout the
City, including Ruggles, North, Abbott Court, Kennedy, Lafayette,
Maplewood and Pulaski Parks. Staff will be operating a daily recreation
and lunch program for youth under 18 from June 23rd thru Aug 29th with
an emphasis on good nutrition and physical fitness. The training
included instruction in the rules and regulations of the Summer Lunch
Program that is offered through the Department. of Education. She also
outlined the programs for the summer and including a Summer Olympics
contest that the children will be able to participate in.
