District Attorney Sam Sutter announced an ambitious plan to help keep the City's children active, healthy and off the streets at the B.M.C.Durfee High School tennis courts on July 14, 2008. Mayor Robert Correia and Mr. Sutter described plans for annual three-pronged free sports clinics for Fall River's youth. Sutter, who played tennis for Brown University and in ten countries as a professional, will be the lead instructor for two free tennis clinics on July 26th and August 2nd for children ages 7 through 12. Two free basketball clinics will be held on November 8th at the Spencer Borden Elementary School and 15th at the Bank Street Armory with former Celtic Ernie DiGregorio. Two baseball clinics will be held on April 18th and 25, 2009, at locations to be announced with former Red Sox pitcher Brian Rose. Registration for the three clinics can be picked-up at the DA's Fall River office at 38 Rock Street, Community Development Recreation at 72 Bank Street, or at the Boys' and Girls Club' at 803 Bedford Street, Fall River.
