A new personal training program for young people funded by a Healthy City micro-grant and run by Community Development Recreation held its first class at the Talbot Middle School on May 6, 2008. Run after school by Certified Personal Trainer Amy Jones of  Where Is The Work-Out , the program offers middle school aged children the opportunity to get a valuable cardio work-out to increase strength and endurance. The course is designed to teach children how to become fit and to maintain personal health that can help with school performance. Children who are engaged in an hour or more of vigorous physical activity have a lower rate of obesity, greater cardio-vascular health and demonstrate improved cognitive performance. For more information about the program, contact CD-REC at 508-679-0522 or Program Director Grace Gerling.
