The Harlem Wizards met the CD-REC Stars at the Veterans' Memorial gymnasium on Bank Street on March 16, 2008. Organized as a fundraiser for the Greater Fall River re-Creation Committee, Inc., the event brought over 350 kids and adults to the game and spectacular half-time entertainment by the CD-REC Allstar cheerleading team. Though the Wizards topped the CD-REC team 107 to 92 with a 20-point give-away, both teams played good ball and had a great time. Known for their "Harlem Globetrotter" style of humor, the Wizards frequently held up the game to engage in hijinks with adults and kids in the audience. The game also gave the CD-REC cheerleading teams a chance to showcase the skills they have been working on all winter under the guidance of instructor Kristin Neville. For more information, contact CD-REC Program Director Grace Gerling at 508-679-0922.
