April 5, 2008, was the 16th annual Healthy Kids Day at the Fall River YMCA as it opened its doors for a free, fun-filled day of activities designed to promote healthy kids and families. "We invite everyone in to try out what we have to offer," noted staff member Mike Mahoney. "This year, Zumba is really popular," he added. Other events included  face painting, rock wall climbing, basketball and yoga. Launching this year on April 12, 2008, is Healthy Family Home, a program to help families in any community incorporate healthier habits at home. YMCA Healthy Kids Day is also part of Activate America®, an innovative public health initiative of the YMCA movement that is making healthy living a reality for millions of Americans. The Fall River Y runs a variety of programs six days a week in their downtown  location, each of which promote a healthy body, mind and spirit. Click here to see last year's event.
