As part of its ongoing efforts to reduce the use of illegal substances in the City of Fall River, Tobacco Control Coordinator Marilyn Edge and the B.O.L.D.Coalition made a presentation to the Lower Highlands Downtown Historic Neighborhood Association meeting on May 6, 2009. The purpose of the meeting was to request the cooperation of the Association in ensuring that local store owners continue to be in compliance with drug paraphernalia laws. In early November, B.O.L.D. sent a letter to all retailers asking them to stop selling glass tubes and other illegal paraphernalia in their stores. During the month of December, 2007, the Southcoast Tobacco Control Collaborative and the Fall River Police Department (FRPD) held three different retailer training sessions at the Fall River Police Department Headquarters This session followed notices sent to storeowners that these items have been deemed in violation of state laws. For more information, contact  at 508-324-2423 or B.O.L.D. Director Karen Fischer at 508-324-3537.
