Jessica Williams, nutritionist for the UMass Extension Nutrition Education Program, took her CFC cooking class to the Rodman Street Stop & Shop grocery store on June 8, 2009 to help them learn about food selection. Some of the ingredients that the group was shopping for included items that will be incorporated in upcoming recipes. Along the way, Jessica had the chance to provide some valuable education about food selection, including how to read a nutrition label. The group has been meeting weekly at CD-REC for a weekly cooking class where students learn how to cook good tasting nutritious food. Click here for photo of the healthy cooking class.
