Chef Jessica Williams offered a healthy cooking class at CD-REC on November 9, 2009, for children to learn the basics of nutrition and MyPyamid information to help them understand what's in the products they typically see in the store. The children then participated in a vegetable and fruit tasting where they sampled pomegranate, red grapefruit, Asian pear, raw sweet potato, red pear and figs. The children finished the session by talking about the benefits of eating fruits and vegetables and how to incorporate them into their daily diet.
