Millions of Americans honored Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and answered President-elect Obama’s call to service by volunteering on the January 19th holiday to perform a variety of community service projects, such as one by YouthBuild and one by Save Our Neighborhoods. Fall River was one of those sites. Adults and youth from Fall River came together at the Bank Street Armory on the afternoon of the Holiday to celebrate and to hear an inspirational message by Professor Lynda Jordan, Martin Luther King Junior Visiting Associate Professor of Chemistry for the 1997-98 academic year at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. A native Bostonian, born in Roxbury Massachusetts, is pastor of the Holy Temple Pentacostal Church in Roxbury, MA. Delivering an inspirational talk to the audience, she inspired young people to pursue Dr. King's ideals in their own lives. For more information about the project contact Healthy Youth Task Force co-chairs  Christian McCloskey at 508-324-2419, or Jamison Souza at 508-679-0922.
