Members of Team F.R.E.S.H., participated in a community service project in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr., at the Main Fall River Public Library on January 20, 2009. The afternoon session was organized by Youth Services Director Christian McCloskey and Massachusetts Promise Fellow Brendan Sullivan. Students planned the session, which included reading a children's picture book, Happy Birthday Martin Luther King by Jean Marzollo, and leading the children in a coloring activity about Dr. King. The session ended with the showing of the film, "Our Friend, Martin." Students also arranged for the donation of children's books on Dr. King to the Library's collection.
