The 17th annual Healthy Kids Day at the Fall River YMCA brought dozens of children and their parents to the facility on April 18, 2009 for an afternoon of activity and fun events designed to introduce families to what the Y has to offer. From bounding around and through two giant inflatable bounce houses to scaling the climbing wall, children had the chance to get some heart-healthy activity. Other presentations included a demonstration by the Fall River Police K-9 Unit and one by the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation's search dog, Scout. The program concluded with an instructive and involving Mad Science show by Leigh Picard. The Fall River Y runs a variety of programs six days a week in their downtown  location, each of which promotes a healthy body, mind and spirit. Click here to see last year's event.
