Students in the Fall River YouthBuild program participated in a Day of Service activity in celebration of Martin Luther King Day by completing the refurbishing work they had started several weeks earlier on two rooms at the Bank Street Armory. Students hung a new drop ceiling and light fixtures for a room that will soon become a kitchen and completed the installation of new flooring in the second floor VFW room. "These kids did an outstanding job on these two projects," commented YouthBuild instructor Ira Joseph. The completion of the two rooms will make the space in the building more usable by students and outside community groups. YouthBuild is a ten-month construction skills training curriculum for men and women ages 17-24 who have not completed high school run by the Old Colony YMCA  For more information, contact Director Terry Moran at 508-678-1975.
