Members of the Healthy Youth Task Force met for their regular monthly meeting on March 4, 2009, at the Keeley Library of B.M.C. Durfee High School. Following the agenda of planning items, members were treated to the debut of the www.FallRiverYOUthZone.com web site, launched just days earlier by members of Team F.R.E.S.H. who put the site together. "This is a long-awaited accomplishment," noted Healthy City Coordinator Dr. David Weed. "For the first time, young people in Fall River will be able to access information on resources and events specifically for youth," he noted. The site includes links to the various youth groups, local agencies and information on jobs, food and fun things to do in Fall River. The site also links to MyFallRiver.org, a web 2.0 site that permits anyone to create calendar listings or blogs. The project was underwritten by a $3,000 grant from the Community Foundation of Southeastern Massachusetts. For more information on the Task Force contact co-chairs  Christian McCloskey at 508-324-2419, or Jamison Souza at 508-679-0922.
