Seton Academy parents Tabitha and Ray Gendreau came up with a great way to raise funds for the school by offering a three-hour Zumbathon session on March 29, 2009 at the Durfee High School gymnasium. Zumba, a low-impact fitness workout held to Latin and international music, is a popular way to have fun while exercising. Over thirty dancers signed up for the event. "This was a great idea," commented co-principal Nancy Sturchio, "especially coming from two of our own parents." Many other parents and a large number of students participated in the event led in part by fitness trainer Tabitha Gendreau and three other trainers. Seton Academy is an independent, Catholic-oriented school which is dedicated to providing girls of all faiths with an educational environment which represents their individuality, while encouraging them academically, culturally, morally, physically, and socially to develop their fullest potential.
