Elementary age children had the chance to learn the fundamentals of basketball at District Attorney Sam Sutter’s Free Sports Clinic held at the Boys and Girls Club on October 23, 2010. The Clinic was conducted by members of the Durfee High School basketball team and staff from the Bristol County District Attorney's Office who volunteered their time to provide instruction. The program gives both boys and girls a chance to learn and practice a game that can give them a lifetime of heart-healthy activity. District Attorney Sutter began offering free tennis clinics to Fall River Youth in 2000 and has continued to offer them since. DA Sutter’s Free Sports Clinics are held throughout Bristol County and offer instruction in tennis, basketball and baseball. “In addition to the great benefit of reaching out to the community and teaching kids a sport they can play for their entire lives, there is another message here: Through partnerships and volunteerism all of us can make a difference in our communities,” DA Sutter said.  For information about future clinics, please contact Brian Rose at 508-961-1972. For information about very low-cost memberships at the Boys' and Girls' Club, contact Monica Tavares at 508-672-6340.
