The Boys & Girls Club of Fall River held an open house on October 2, 2010 to invite new and former members to sign up for another year of activities for young people at the Bedford Street facility. The Club runs four different prevention programs geared toward members from kindergarten to middle school including Street SMARTS, SMART Kids, SMART Girls, and Passport to Manhood. This year, more than 80 members graduated from the program! The Club depends on generous individual gifts, volunteers, fundraising events, and foundation support to serve 1800 youngsters each year. The Club is in the midst of its annual fundraising campaign and has raised more than $37,000 so far. Anyone who would like to  make a contribution to the Club can do so online at www.fallriverbgc.org, or stop at the Front Desk, or see Executive Director Peter McCarthy for a donation envelope. For more information about the Club and its programs, contact Executive Director Peter McCarthy at 508-672-6340.
