New
mothers and their children who have participated in the Mommy And Me
support group, run by People
Incorporated, gathered at Heritage
State Park visitors' center on June 10, 2010 for their annual group
reunion. New and expectant mothers receive education and support through
a free and confidential program at People, Inc., funded by a grant
through the Department
of Public Health. This special team of professionals provide health
education, emotional support, and connections to resources that new and
expectant mothers in Fall River, Somerset, Swansea, Westport, Freetown and
Assonet need. The team, includes a maternal child health nurse, social
worker, and community health worker who provide home visits that include
health education and emotional support to meet individual needs for
mothers of children up to one year of age. Click
