Students at the Talbot Middle School have been participating in a cardio kickboxing class as part of their after school program one day a week. The classes were inspired by the 2010 Fitness Challenge, the third offered by the Diabetes Association, Inc. (DAI), Children In Balance, Community Development Recreation (CD-REC), the Fall River YMCA and Healthy Lives Fall River. Students and faculty throughout the Fall River Public Schools have formed teams and have developed fitness events for students at nearly all of the schools. Personal Trainer Amy Jones of  Where Is The Work-Out has been leading the class that engages over forty students. "The kids really love it," notes Jones. "They really don't think of it as exercise but still get a great workout." Click here and here for the photos of other Challenge events. Call CD-REC at 508-679-0922 or go to www.FallRiverFitnessChallenge.com for information about the Challenge.
