Student members of Promise Leaders Of Tomorrow (PLOT) honored Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by volunteering their time to play bingo with residents of the South Pointe Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Residence across Amity  street from the Henry Lord Middle school on January 14, 2010. This was one of thousands of community service projects held across the country to honor Dr. King. Adults and youth from Fall River came together at the Bank Street Armory on the afternoon of the holiday to celebrate and to hear from many of the City's youth groups who had volunteered to read to children at local schools, paint a hand mural, help at a soup kitchen, and volunteer at St. Vincent's Home and the Forever Paws animal shelter during the previous week. For more information about the project contact Fall River Youth CHOICES co-chairs  Christian McCloskey at 508-324-2419, or Jamison Souza at 508-679-0922.
