Newly-elected
Mayor Will Flanagan held a reception for the public at Fall River
Government Center just after
being sworn in on January 4, 2010, at B.M.C. High School Nagle Auditorium
and attending a luncheon held in his honor at the Cultural Center on South
Main Street. Mayor Flanagan greeted City employees, including members of
the Community Services and Health Department, and members of the public,
many of whom supported his candidacy. The event included a healthy spread
of fresh fruit and vegetables along with low-sugar beverages in accord
with the Guide
to Healthy Meetings and Events provided by George Malatantis
of the Highland Luncheonette. Following the reception, the public was
also invited
to participate in events on January 9, including a waterfront family day festival of food, fun and fitness,
including the kick-off weigh-in for the Fitness
